I want to build deep, meaningful, and impactful relationships. When I was running my mobile gaming startup, we had over 40 million installs across all our apps and exceeded $10 million in annual revenue. But it wasn’t fulfilling. Coaching fulfills me internally in a way that external achievement never did.
I love learning. I learn as much from coaching as my clients do. I also love reading. I read an average of over 100 books per year, covering fields like coaching, psychology, philosophy, and business. Coaching is a lab for me to experiment and apply learnings from my readings to the real world—and help others in the process.
I strive to be the best husband and father I can be. Coaching helps me learn to improve my emotional intelligence. It helps me listen better, be more patient, and empathize more with others. Coaching helps me help others by learning to let them help themselves instead of trying to do things for them.
It has always been a dream of mine to coach my children’s sports teams. I’ve played for the basketball teams at my junior high, high school, and even participated in college intramural leagues. I’ve always been fascinated by the role the coach plays in inspiring and influencing players. Now, having coached four of my kids’ teams, I’ve realized the learning experience has been mutually beneficial; I’ve learned as much from the kids as they have from me. The joy of coaching is something I truly cherish.
